Christmas has arrived early for Rebecca Gooderham from
Scotland, the lucky winner of the Ariat Grasmere boots which were
up for grabs to celebrate the launch of the new British Horse Feeds
website.
Said Rebecca: "I was delighted to hear that I had won the
boots, they will get plenty of use over the winter! My horse Tenby,
a nine-year-old Welsh Section D mare, can be a bit fizzy at times
so Speedi-Beet is great for her as its non-heating. She loves
tucking in to it, especially when I make it with warm water in
winter."
Competition runners up, Sarah Hay, Nicky Braund, Hilary
Boughton, Imogen Addison and Annika Earl all each received a three
month supply of Speedi-Beet, perfectly timed as the cold weather
arrives and the feed bills start to mount up.
Annika Earl, who owns four horses, explains that the
Speedi-Beet will be a great help: "My horses all have Speedi-Beet
so the prize will help to keep the cost down this winter, I really
appreciate it."
Annika owns Oxcombe Gale a HIS graded mare by the HIS
thoroughbred stallion Abutammam. They have done a lot together from
showing to dressage, jumping, team chasing and also reached
Advanced level in endurance before Annika retired her to breeding.
She is now 20 years old and very sound.
Her first foal, Oxcombe Medvind, by the Hanoverian stallion Medoc,
is now a four-year-old and will be aimed at the five-year-old
Burghley Young Event Horse classes next year. Annika also owns his
full brother Oxcombe Marsvind and a 19-year-old Welsh Cross called
Oxcombe Saga.
Speedi-Beet winner Imogen Addison feeds Speedi-Beet to her
event horse Babe, an 11-year-old 16.2hh Warmblood X mare. Her other
horses Simon 27-year-old retired dressage horse, Jasper a 17-
year-old all rounder and Tigger a nine-year-old are also fed
Speedi-Beet and all look very well.
