Congratulations to Rosy Lewis-Ullah, the lucky winner of our competition held at the South West Christmas Equine Fair.

“I felt Ellie was most deserving of this rug, and as you can see, she was very pleased to be showing it off!”

Rosy, from Clyst St George, Exeter, is the head groom at the South Manor branch of the Mare and Foal Sanctuary, a charity dedicated to rescuing and finding loving homes for horses and ponies.

The fabulous prize, a British Horse Feeds branded Thermatex® Rug, was delivered to Rosy who decided to give it to one of her favourite residents at the Mare and Foal Sanctuary.

Said Rosy: "I felt Ellie was most deserving of this rug, and as you can see, she was very pleased to be showing it off!"

Ellie, a 15hh Blanket Spot Appaloosa Cross Mare, is now retired at approximately 21 years of age and will remain a permanent resident at the sanctuary. She was rescued in 2007 and following severe Uveitis, is now totally blind.

Said Rosy: "I'm happy to say she lives a full life, going in the field with her companion and even does pole work to fine tune her voice commands."
