It’s been a very different year for us at Kabete Lodge…
Despite the lockdowns and doing our best to keep the horses going through the COVID pandemic, the first half of the year for me was spent on the ground watching. Stevie and our riders have done a fabulous job of keeping the horses fit and out competing whilst I was heavily pregnant.
In June baby Alfie finally arrived and after a little time off getting to grips with being a mum I finally got back on board. I couldn’t have been more excited to be back in the saddle and riding again.
After a few successful national shows to get me back in the swing of things we went to one of my favourite shows of the year; Bolesworth Young Horse Championships.
I rode my eight-year-old mare Inovation in the CSI1* International classes jumping clear every day to finish with a third and eighth place. It was fantastic to be back out competing and even more so that Inovation jumped really well.
As the summer season draws to a close we will concentrate now on producing the next group of talented young horses at the indoor shows over the winter.
As always all our team of horses are looking and feeling super thanks to the continued support from British Horse Feeds.
