Here we catch up with brand ambassador Ruby Thompson as she reflects of a busy season and looks ahead to the New Year with a new face on the yard…

With summer drawing to a close and the school term starting again I’m so pleased with what I’ve achieved so far this year with my horses.

We have had a busy season and travelled many miles across the UK this summer competing from down at Hickstead all the way up to Blair Horse Trials in Scotland.

There have been many highs and always a couple of lows and lessons learnt along the way. My biggest high would definitely be winning at Blair and qualifying for Badminton again next year on Batty. This year we’ll be competing in the BE100 Championships which was very unexpected.

Another great achievement was being selected for the International U18 Championships in the CCI2*L on Millie, which was the biggest and most technical course we have ever done. Millie gave me an incredible ride in the cross-country phase.

We are very much looking forward to Osberton International Horse Trials at the end of September after a few weeks rest following the Championship. We’ll be heading there for the CCI2*-L.

There is also an exciting new addition to the yard; Tango, a 10 year old Thoroughbred, who we hope to run alongside Millie next year. We are planning to do some British Showjumping over the winter ready for next spring to go out eventing.

Millie and Batty will get a few of weeks of well-deserved rest in the winter ready for a busy season next year, whilst Foxy joins Tango to enjoy some show jumping.

All this couldn’t be done without the correct diet for my horses including the excellent products from British Horse Feeds, my mum for driving me around the country, and my sister Poppy and niece Peggy for their support.
