Well, I can’t believe we’re already in February. Time flies! Apparently you humans celebrate something called Valentine’s Day this month and they told me to remind you that there are lots of unusual gifts you can get your loved ones from Hope Pastures. If anyone loves me and fancies getting me a gift, a bag of carrots wouldn’t go amiss or maybe a new wellie? You’ve got to love a donk for trying eh?
We’re all a bit fed up of the mud at the moment and are longing for the new shoots of spring to show themselves. The ponies are enjoying their pampering sessions at the pony parties, especially those caking themselves in mud (not mentioning any names). As long as those little humans don’t come anywhere me with those bows! I’ll be the laughing stock of the donk world.

Bernie, Sago, Ned and Maisie saw the farrier recently and did really well, and Sago went to support the Leeds Cross Country Varsity Race as they were fundraising for us. I think he quite fancies himself as a runner next year.
Oh and Alfie is clearly trying to take over from me as Mr Mischievous. He’s always up to no good, either ‘helping’ the humans with the mucking out or breaking into the storage room for a rummage! It’s a good job the humans are onto him!
Some good news in that Ellie Mae has headed off to a long term foster home where she can live with another older mare. Dusty is also heading off to an experienced loan home where his specialist care can continue. Wishing you both lots of luck and cuddles!

Timmy is looking for a new forever home. He’s a lovable, cheeky 12.2-13hh chunky cob with two gorgeous wall eyes and a lush flowing mane. He was rescued several years ago as a colt who was due to be put to sleep and is now approx 6 years old and doing well with his education so far. He’s looking for a caring home where he can fulfil his full potential and have lots of fun. If you think you can give Timmy a home, please contact Hope Pastures on 07939 198519 or email re-homing@hopepastures.org

And finally, because it’s nearly Valentine’s day, I thought I’d add a picture of our very own Sanctuary pin up, the gorgeous Bernie! You can adopt him too!
That’s all for this month. Take care.
Banjo xx
