Next up for James was something he is not quite used to… a photoshoot with another one of our great sponsors, Trilanco and Clipperman! We enjoyed a lovely day of giggles and watching James in front of the camera with our very own Master Ramiro. Master Ramiro certainly knew how to work the camera and James thoroughly enjoyed showing off all their wonderful products we were spoilt with.
The country saw a lot of rain and unfortunately Skipton horse trials was cancelled. However, we moved onto one of our favourite events Henderside for just one of our boys to compete, VSS Mission Impossible and he did not disappoint! Tom came away with a fantastic win, with a beautiful dressage and some super jumping.
The lorry and our horses then headed off to Aston Le Walls. Bally Louis ran in the Novice with a lovely double clear, a slightly tense test and coming away with a good result, 5th.
Master Ramiro was a very good boy, producing a beautiful test, an unfortunate rail but a fantastic clear xc to come 3rd. Shadow Inspector stepped up a level to intermediate and he was such a super star! Chiefy produced a lovely test to score a 33 with a peach of a show jumping and a fantastic clear cross country. He certainly put his big boy pants on!
It has become a busy part of the season for Team Sommerville. So on the road again for Sommerford Park International. First up was the intermediate boys and they were all perfectly behaved doing nice tests and perfect jumping rounds.
It was that time of the month for the ponies to see their best friend Tim Jarman. He does an incredible job by keeping all our boys supple and happy. It is so important to treat your horses like the athletes they are by ensuring all aspects are covered. We have a phenomenal team of our Farrier Jason Gzjack, our dentist Robin Earnshaw and obviously our top man Physio Tim Jarman.
Shelford was next, and we saw two very good runs from Carlanstown Monbeg and Hanslough Bob in the BE 90. New boy Tulsa did a good run in the four-year-olds coming 8th.
Star of the day was Master Ramiro. With a super dressage and fab jumping rounds to secure the win in the BE100.
Friday at Richmond was a hugely busy one. With ridiculous times James and our horses pulled it out of the bag! Talent was a super star coming 2nd in the OI and Radpide Gii also another star coming 2nd in the Intermediate.
Shadow Inspector had another fantastic run coming 6th in the Intermediate and Altaskin Jack being his cool dude self, coming 7th in the OI. VSS Mission Impossible stepped up to intermediate like a pro, a lovely test, just four jumping faults in the show jumping and an amazing clear cross country. Sunday saw a Win for Hanslough Bob in his first BE100!
The next couple of months we will see the horses having their final runs and a few big ones for the older horses. Until next time KEEP FEEDING THE SUPER FIBRE-BEET!!
